The challenge

Constellation Brands’ (CBI) Obregon brewery expansion near Ciudad Obregon, Mexico, presented a multifaceted challenge in transforming the facility into a modern, automated brewery. The extensive 100,000-square-meter expansion included constructing new buildings, warehouses, packaging facilities, and logistics structures, necessitating intricate coordination of various components such as rail lines, water and wastewater plants, utilities, and site services. Managing the construction of both hot block and cold block sections within the new brewery building, incorporating packaging equipment, and executing utility work for boilers and compressed air systems required precise planning. Additionally, the project aimed to convert significant greenfield space to improved infrastructure and maintain operations during the COVID-19 pandemic, emphasizing health and safety protocols.
