Williams Crossing Pedestrian Bridge Named 2026 Bridge of the Year

The Williams Crossing Pedestrian Bridge in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has been named the 2026 Bridge of the Year by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) and the National Steel Bridge Alliance (NSBA), earning the structural steel industry’s highest honor for bridge design and construction.

Spanning more than 1,440 feet across the Arkansas River, Williams Crossing is the longest arch-type pedestrian bridge in the United States and the first multi-span plate arch bridge of its kind. Designed as both a civic landmark and recreational destination, the bridge creates a striking new connection for pedestrians and cyclists along Tulsa’s riverfront.

Hillsdale Fabricators, Alberici’s structural steel division, fabricated and erected approximately 1,300 tons of structural steel for the project, including the bridge’s signature arch spans. The 12-span structure highlights the precision, coordination and craftsmanship required to deliver a project of this scale and complexity.

The annual AISC/NSBA Prize Bridge Awards recognize outstanding achievements in steel bridge engineering, aesthetics and innovation. In addition to Bridge of the Year, Williams Crossing also received a 2026 Prize Bridge Award in the Special Purpose category for pedestrian bridges, recognizing its unique steel arch design and contribution to recreation, connectivity and community engagement in Tulsa.
