Sal Mazzola Shares Crane Safety Expertise at 2024 AGC Construction Safety Conference
On July 17, 2024, Sal Mazzola, an Operator General Trade Superintendent at Alberici, participated in a panel on Crane Liability and Risk Exposure at the Associated General Contractors (AGC) Construction Safety, Health & Environmental Conference. The event was hosted at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch. Sal was joined by David Wessin, VP of Risk Engineering at American Global, Michael Rubin, OSHA Attorney at Ogletree Deakins, and Allan Brayley, Chief Engineer at Flatiron Constructors.
Sal was selected for his expert-level knowledge surrounding crane safety and liability. Sal worked at Alberici in a safety management role for close to five years before being promoted to his position as General Trade Superintendent for the Operating Engineers. In this role, he leads all operators at all levels throughout North America.
He holds several certifications and is an NCCCO certified crane operator. He developed the crane operator competency test for Alberici and OE Local 513, which was adapted by other union locals and various crane companies in the United States.
