Molson Coors Longueuil, Quebec, Canada

Design-build of Molson Coors’ new state-of-the-art flagship brewery and distribution centre.

Strategic Partnership to Construct a Flagship and Historic Facility

A strategic partnership between Alberici and Pomerleau led the design, construction and building commissioning for a new, state-of-the-art brewery and distribution centre for Molson Coors in Longueil, Quebec to relocate operations from Molson’s original brewery site in downtown Montreal. This strategic partnership combined the companies’ extensive construction management and brewery process experience to successfully deliver the new centre.

Construction of Molson Coors’ Most Modern Brewery and Distribution Centre

The new facility is Molson-Coors’ most modern and forward-looking brewery and distribution center. The main building includes a multi-stage brewhouse, packaging room, warehouse/distribution center, power plant, administrative offices and a customer reception area.  There is also a dedicated wastewater treatment plant on the facility site. The warehouse/distribution center includes an automatic pallet sorting and retrieving system, automatic case sorting system, enclosed keg cold storage, packaging material storage area, back-loading loading docks, ground level drive-in truck bays, truck repair service bays, and indoor overnight delivery truck parking.

Building a Collaborative Environment

The partnership used design charettes, workshops, weekly meetings, and a project portal to build a collaborative environment amongst construction team and client project representatives based on trust, transparency, and open communication. These tools promoted positive interaction among project stakeholders, allowing us to generate ideas to improve facility efficiency and effectiveness and to solve problems as the program evolved.
