Describe the path that brought you to your current role?
I originally got hired as a Junior Estimator back in 2014 and spent the better part of the year in the office working on bids and learning the ins and outs of the office. I was then approached with the opportunity to do a 12-month term on a brewery project in Mexico as a Project Coordinator for my ACT development and ended up finding a home on the operations side ever since.
What do you enjoy most about your current role?
I wouldn’t say there’s a single thing I enjoy the most about my current role, but I really enjoy having the opportunity to be exposed to so many different markets. I love seeing things get built and come together through a collective team effort and knowing you were an integral part of that. During my short time with Alberici I’ve already been to so many places and seen so many things that I never thought I’d see in my lifetime.
What do you like most about working at Alberici?
Seems to be a common theme, but the people company-wide has to be the best thing about Alberici. It really does feel like family. Can’t say enough about how supportive, encouraging and genuine our team is on a professional and personal level from top to bottom.
What are you most proud of in your time at Alberici and why?
I am most proud of being part of multiple projects of varying scale, market and degrees of difficulty. I take great pride in being a contributing member to each project team I’ve been on and working together with everyone to achieve our goals.
What piece of advice would you give to someone just starting in the construction industry?
Construction is a very rapid paced industry with a high degree of technicality all around on top of that you mix in the all different people from different walks of life and experiences – it can be a very intimidating. If I were to give someone just starting the construction industry any advice, it would be to always be willing to learn, have an open mind with the right attitude, don’t be afraid to ask for help and never take anything too personally.
You’ve traveled quite a bit in your time at Alberici. What do you enjoy most about traveling from project to project?
The travel itself and everything that comes with it is what I love most about moving from project to project, even the airport stress! I’ve been to so many different places, had so many incredible experiences and have met so many amazing people during my travels.
