On Thursday, Oct. 29, Alberici’s Emergency Ventilator Manufacturing Facility project received second place in the “Coronavirus Response Category” from the Associated General Contractors of Missouri (AGCMO) at their annual construction award ceremony and gala.
Working closely with Hamilton Medical and General Motors Company (GM), Alberici designed and constructed a fully operational ventilator assembly plant in a period of just 11 days. This ambitious effort featured rapid mobilization of nearly 60 on-site staff and virtual collaboration with a wide range of trade partners, suppliers, and design consultants located across the United States.
Built within an 86,000-square-foot warehouse in Reno, Nevada, the project enabled Hamilton Medical to increase their global ventilator production capacity by more than 40 percent and meet surging demand for these lifesaving devices during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This is an honor that we share with the entire project team,” said Alberici Project Manager Derek Baker. “Without the full support, dedication, and commitment to collaboration from Hamilton Medical, GM, and all of our trade partners and suppliers, especially Conti and AEI, this effort would not have been possible.”
