Discovery at the Fargo Water Treatment Plant Project

While excavating for some yard pipe adjacent to the new water treatment plant, buried lagging was found from the original Fargo Water Treatment Plant that was constructed on the same site as the new plant in the early 1900s. A shovel was found buried in with this lagging, and we were able to remove it in one piece. The project team gave this shovel to the existing plant staff as they have several photos on display from the original plant’s construction.

This shovel is a 100 year old reminder to the team that what we are building here will be serving the Fargo community for generations to come.
