Construction Underway on Wichita’s Northwest Water Treatment Facility

Alberici is completing earthwork on site at the location of Wichita’s new state-of-the-art water treatment facility. Wichita is replacing its 80-year-old water treatment plant with a new plant that will deliver 120 million gallons of water per day and will be fully redundant and drought-resistant. The City of Wichita provides water to more than 500,000 people, and this new plant will provide clean drinking water to the region for decades to come. The project will be complete in January 2025.

Alberici and our joint venture partner Burns & McDonnell are working with the City to design and construct this $494 million project through progressive design-build delivery. This collaborative approach utilizes the expertise of the City, the design team, and the construction team throughout design and construction, maximizing efficiency, quality, and safety of the project.
