Carpenter Superintendents Complete Career Training Program

Three Alberici Superintendents, Darin Bals, Curt Lekar, and Gary Slaughter, recently completed the Superintendent Career Training program sponsored by the Carpenters International Training Fund. Training consists classroom instruction, Alberici sponsored mentoring, and on the job training spread over 18 months. The trainees make four trips to the Carpenters International Training Center in Las Vegas, NV to receive instruction on topics including communication, motivation, leadership, scheduling, change management, and document controls. These classes are led by Construction Management professors based at major universities throughout the country.

While back at work, they are paired with an experienced Alberici superintendent to mentor them on company culture, company resources, and to provide a sounding board for issues they encounter on their projects. The trainees also complete 30 on the job training exercises during the course of the program with their mentor.
