Washington University / BJC - Biomedical Research Building #1 - Steel Erection
Kienlen Constructors performed the steel erection for a 12-story and adjacent 7-story office building. Included in the work were three stairs, elevator steel and the erection of three pedestrian bridges, which served as links to surrounding buildings.
The site was extremely tight with little clearance or lay down/staging space. As an additional challenge the Kienlen team performed the erection of the 12-story building over an active metro link spur that provided service which could not be interrupted. All of the work was done safely and within budget and schedule requirements.
