Alberici Reports $1.4 Billion in Work Backlog

St. Louis, MO (July 26, 2005) – Alberici Group announced today that the company has a backlog of work estimated at more than $1.4 billion dollars, nearly a 50 percent increase from the $900 million backlog in June 2004.   Historically, construction has been an early indicator of how the economy is doing, and Alberici has been awarded projects in several industries where building has been and continues to be robust.

“This is an exciting time for Alberici because these numbers signal a lot going on around the country and we’re playing a part in that growth,” said Bob McCoole, president, Alberici Group.  “We are seeing activity across a number of different sectors.  Leading the way are healthcare and industrial, two markets in which we have extensive experience.” said McCoole.

Alberici Group, headquartered in St. Louis, is a collection of independent construction services companies operating throughout North America.  As the core organization, Alberici Group provides strategic direction and shared services to each Alberici company and ensures a common commitment to excellence, integrity, and passion for quality work. Companies within Alberici Group include Alberici Constructors Inc. (USA), Gunther-Nash, Vertegy, Hoffman, Alberici Constructors Ltd (Canada) and Hillsdale Fabricators.

The backlog of work also means Alberici Group is looking to bring on new talent to complement its work force.  “We take great pride in what we do, and our people who make it all happen.  The depth of our current backlog affords us the opportunity to add talented individuals to our highly qualified team as we continue to grow,” said McCoole.
