Two basic tenets of sustainability are the conservation of resources and the enhancement of the quality of work life.  As it turns out, Alberici has been practicing these same principles for decades in the way in which we've grown and renewed our relationships with clients, subcontractors and employees.

However most recently, we have applied these basic principles to our core business of construction.  Ford Motor Company first introduced us to the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and its "Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design" (LEED®) Program.  When it came time for Alberici to build a new headquarters, John Alberici had the vision and commitment to strive for a platinum-certified development.  As a result of our experience in achieving one of the greenest office buildings in the world, our people learned valuable lessons in how to maximize the concepts of sustainability without impacting the project's construction budget.

Today, Alberici's commitment to sustainability has not only spawned Vertegy, a sustainability consulting firm, but has established LEED® accreditation as a pre-requisite for our project engineers seeking advancement to the position of project manager.
