The year was 1918.

  • St. Louis was the 4th largest city in the United States.

  • We had two major league baseball teams—the Cardinals and the Browns.

  • Construction of the 256-ft. tall Hotel Statler, the first hotel to be air-conditioned in the United States, was just completed in downtown St. Louis.

  • The site of what is now Lambert Airport was still a balloon launch location known as Kinloch Field.

  • Chevrolet opened an auto manufacturing plant at Union and Natural Bridge Roads after becoming part of the newly-formed General Motors.

  • Airplanes were being manufactured at a factory on Delmar Avenue.

  • Anheuser Busch opened the Bevo Bottling Plant—the world’s largest under one roof--at a cost of $10 million.

  • Laborers made $2.25 a day.

  • Wellston, then a suburb of St. Louis, was a bustling commercial district and at the turn of the century was ranked among the largest street car transfer points in the U.S.

  • Horse-drawn wagons still competed with trolleys and “tin lizzies” for road space.

One horse and wagon was driven by a young immigrant from Italy—an entrepreneur who established a small contracting firm in Wellston.  It was inconceivable then that the fledgling firm would, in the coming years, somehow touch many of the other businesses making history in that same year.

1918 was the beginning of a success story.  The Alberici story.

Over the years, we've evolved into many organizations providing a wide variety of services.  Although we've maintained a strong St. Louis presence, we've expanded geographically and established full service regional offices in Detroit, Atlanta and Ontario, Canada.

Today, we continue to touch business and industry throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and South America by providing quality, value-driven construction services in a variety of markets.

Our founder built a legacy.  We’re continuing his work.   Welcome to our company.
