For Alberici, developing a diverse supplier base is a vital part of doing business. Our commitment to supplier diversity includes developing and maintaining strong alliances with small and disadvantaged businesses, including minority, women, and veteran-owned companies. Our inclusion of these firms provides them with economic opportunities and enables our clients to meet their diversity goals.
Alberici participates in public and private programs that promote disadvantaged businesses including membership in both the St. Louis and Michigan Minority Supplier Development Councils. We also support the Regional Union Construction Center, an incubator program in the St. Louis region for minority and women-owned businesses.
Precious Jackson, Alberici's Diversity Coordinator, is responsible for conducting supplier outreach efforts and verifying compliance with diversity requirements and goals.
Alberici’s supplier diversity initiatives include:
Community Outreach Forums
Outreach Forums are proven to be an effective tool to attract qualified and interested subcontractors. Alberici conducts project-focused outreach forums to maximize disadvantaged business participation and to satisfy our clients’ objectives for their projects.
Over the years, Alberici has formed dozens of long-term mentoring relationships with diverse businesses. This continues to enhance the skills of subcontractors and assist them in pursuing business opportunities.
Alberici University offers free classes in which participants work side-by-side with Alberici personnel to learn skills that are critical in the construction industry such as estimating, bid preparation and project safety.
